High Risk Pregnancy Care

A high-risk pregnancy is one that threatens the health or life of the mother or her foetus. Some pregnancies become high risk as they progress, while some women are at increased risk for complications even before they get pregnant for a variety of reasons. Early and regular prenatal care helps women to have healthy pregnancies and also deliveries without complications. Women with high-risk pregnancies should receive care from a specialist.

 

Recurrent Miscarriage

Recurrent Miscarriage has become very common now with increased level of stress, tension, irregular eating habits, late marriages, weak immune system, obesity or being too much underweight. In some cases haematological disorders, weak cervix and careless attitude towards pregnancy can also cause problems. Be it any reason but each new pregnancy brings forth mixed feelings of hope, anxiety and happiness and recurrent miscarriage can be heart breaking. Therefore it is advised to take guidance of an expert right after noticing the first miscarriage.

Ectopic Pregnancy

Ectopic Pregnancy occurs when fertilized egg attaches itself outside the uterus. Signs and symptoms classically include abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. There could be countless reasons for ectopic pregnancy, the most common symptom can be an infection or inflammation in the fallopian tube thus making it partially or entirely blocked. The major health risk of an ectopic pregnancy is rupture, leading to internal bleeding. Immediate medical attention is needed in this case.

 

Family Planning

Growing population in country like India is a serious threat to the couples in particular and nation at large, therefore it is much talked after issue of the day. The literal meaning of family planning defines it as an educational and practicing activity of controlling the birth of number of children in between a married couple by the means of contraception or voluntary sterilization. There are many methods for family planning, the most prominent ones include long-acting reversible contraception (IUD), hormonal contraception, barrier methods, fertility awareness, permanent contraception such as (vasectomy and tubal ligation) and emergency contraception.
